Smile with Yoga: Fun, Mindful, and Engaging Yoga for Kids (and Their Parents) Book Review
My family loves books and we also have recently taken an interest in yoga. We have a few yoga books for kids and also enjoy family yoga videos. Yoga is an excellent tool for children to keep them engaged and active. Whenever my children seem wound up or bored, yoga helps them relax and be more in tune with the world around them. So when I was offered a chance to review a kid's yoga book called Smile with Yoga, I couldn't pass it up! I was provided this book to help facilitate this review.
Smile with Yoga is a children's book is full of fun illustrations of animals and kids doing yoga poses together with fun facts about each animal. It has beautifully written poems teaching kids 20 different yoga poses and games and mindfulness activities to do with fellow yogis! The Smile with Yoga book is definitely one we're happy to have in our collection and I'm excited to share a little more about it with you!
Yoga originated in ancient India with the goal of it being to teach spiritual and physical unification by strengthening the mind and body connection, and since has become more and more popular due to the many health benefits. People all around the world practice yoga!
Here are some health benefits of yoga:
• relieves stress & anxiety
• improves concentration
• encourages better alignment & balance
• builds self-confidence
• increases sensory consciousness/body awareness
• builds muscles & stronger joints
• reduces inflammation & aids in digestion & metabolism
• improves breathing & circulation
• decreases pain & promotes better sleep

My three girls loved following along with the yoga poses in the Smile with Yoga book. Here are a few of their favorites!
Butterfly pose.
Cat pose.
Mermaid pose.
This book has simple step by step instructions on how to do each pose, along with further illustrations so that little ones that may not be able to read can still follow along easily. All 3 of my girls were able to read/look at the book and cooperate, get through many poses with minimal assistance and all the while they kept smiles on their faces.
Smile with Yoga also offers additional games and activities in the book to encourage more fun and partnership.
I am pleased with everything this book offers! My kids have already shown improvements after the several weeks we have been reading it. They seem happier and more at peace with daily yoga! We all will enjoy this unique book for many years to come. I absolutely recommend checking it out on Amazon! Smile with Yoga is available as a hard cover or on kindle.
