In the United States, Section 7 of the Fair Labor and Standards Act requires employers to provide reasonable break time for mothers to express milk with "a place, other than a bathroom, that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from coworkers and the public, which may be used by an employee to express breast milk."  Mothers are protected until the child's first birthday under this law.  However, many moms have shared what their experience is like pumping at work with photos of their pumping area which include supply closets and unfortunately there are still moms having to pump in bathroom stalls.  Workplace accommodations are essential in improving a mother's breastfeeding goals.  Working moms deserve better!  Aeroflow Breastpumps saw the need to help support moms by getting more businesses on board and told me all about their brilliant idea!  They envisioned a Chip and Joanna Gaines styled Lactation Room Fixer Upper- and are having a giveaway where one winner will receive a in-person pumping room makeover with accessories!  If you are a working mom and want to nominate your employer or if you know of a business that would benefit, enter the Pumping Room Makeover Giveaway today!
Four other moms that enter the giveaway will win a gift basket valued at $500 worth of breastfeeding and pumping supplies from sponsors like Spectra, Ameda, Evenflo, Lansinoh, Belly Bandit and Motif!  More details and rules on the Pumping Room Makeover below.

First of all, let me share why moms need a proper room to pump breastmilk.  When you feel comfortable, you're more likely to have a quicker letdown and make more milk! Plus it helps to have everything you need close by to cut back on the time spent during your break.  Above is an image showing the perfect lactation room. We all want moms to feel good about what they're providing for their baby!  Having a supportive and comfy place to sit, a table, good light, and a fridge are just a few things that help a mom get what she needs to get done!  Read my post 10 Pumping Tips for Working Moms for more ideas to make pumping at work easier for you!

The Pumping Room Makeover is running until August 31st and is open to those 18+ that are legal residents of the USA.  To enter, you have to complete the Pumping Room Makeover online form.  Approximate retail value of this giveaway is $3000.

Aeroflow Breastpumps hopes to continue this campaign and offer subsequent giveaways, but it's up to you to share!  The more people that sign up, the more chances there will be for others in the future.  Also, by sharing, you're encouraging businesses to think about what accomodations they currently provide to their employees and what they can do better!  Pin, tweet & post on Facebook ❤️ share with everyone you know!

I am very excited to be able to share this opportunity with everyone. With my first, I worked full-time and because the only place I had to pump was the break room (which also was a storage area), I only pumped a few months and didn't make it as long as I had hoped to.  I did NOT know what the laws were at that time and had very little breastfeeding support all around.  Having an appropriate place to pump is crucial and I want everyone out there to know it is OK to demand that you get what the law requires.  Reach out to your local breastfeeding support groups and tell them your concerns, talk to others, find your tribe and keep on pumping mama!  You can do this!!!!
