Did you know that 98% of children potty train by the age of 36 months?
Potty training is easier when it's cheaper, more environmentally friendly and better on your child's skin! We prefer using cloth instead of disposables and the Bummis Potty Pant is a great tool in making potty training easier for you and your little one!
I am going to give all the specifics about the Bummis Potty Pant and share a couple tips I've learned from potty training!
Cloth is a terrific option for potty training, some say that using cloth helps kids potty train faster!
I was sent an XL Bummis Potty Pant in Fairy Tale print in exchange for a review. These cloth potty training pants are designed to look and feel more like underwear. They are VERY TRIM, no bulk at all, but they absorb little accidents quite well!
I just love this print, it is decorated with cute castles, pretty pink princesses, unicorns, colorful trees, rainbows and hearts on a plum shade background. The fabric is polyurethane laminate (PUL), which is leakproof and keeps wetness in!
The side panels are a stretchy and lightweight fabric, in a dark hot pink color. They are really accommodating on my chunky 36 pound 3 year old!
When your child is able to get their pants pulled up and down on their own, you know that they are ready to begin potty training. The binding on the Potty Pant is composed of a soft lycra material that has fantastic stretch to get the Potty Pant on and off without fumbling.
The core is made of 2 absorbent layers. One is a long loop cotton terry and the other is a mix of cotton, polyester and bamboo rayon. This material comes cleaner in the wash and repels stains and odors better than microfiber.
Lining the core is a natural cotton hemp fabric. This is nice and comfortable, similar to what you'd expect in big kid underpants. Instead of pulling the moisture all the way in/ giving a stay-dry effect on the skin, it helps your child feel the sensation of being wet.
There are a total of 4 sizes available:
• Small is 18-25 lbs
• Medium is 25-30 lbs
• Large is 30-35 lbs
• X-Large is 35 and up (I'd estimate close to 40 lbs max)
There are currently a total of TEN adorable prints, absolutely something for every bum!!!
Bummis products are made in Canada with fabrics sourced from Canada and USA. They have a made here promise and I proudly support businesses that care about this! They are compliant of all CPSIA regulations, and products are all free of lead, phthalates and BPA. They have a guarantee for their products, if it starts leaking before 50 washes or has any other defect, they can replace the product. They also offer a FREE troubleshooting app in case you need help. Bummis really cares about their customers!
Washing and drying the Potty Pant is simple. First, I suggest to prep the Potty Pant by washing and drying at least twice. The wash routine would be the same as you'd use for cloth diapers. You do want to line dry these.
If you haven't used cloth diapers but want to use cloth training pants, don't worry! It isn't hard washing them, at all. You can wash a small load of 4 or 5 at a time, even. I wash cold/warm/cold and an extra rinse in my front load HE. It takes out all the stink. If you have UV from the sun, set it to dry in the light and it helps more.
Potty Pant fits perfectly under clothes, no big fluffy bum like with some cloth diapers. The first time she wore it, she went 3 hours without using the potty and had an accident. We were grocery shopping, so she wasn't thinking about using the potty at that time. The Potty Pant held in the urine pretty well, it did leak a little around the insides of her legs, which made her uncomfortable. She didn't like peeing in her pretty princess big girl underwear! The next couple times she wore it, we were at home and she pulled it down easily and made it to the potty in time. Since then, she has been consistent with potty training, so we've used these for outings mostly. Karebear is finally getting used to using a big potty instead of a little potty! She loves this design, especially when matching her baby sister (see my Bummis AIO review)!
What's my favorite thing about Bummis Potty Pant?
This is probably the easiest to pull up and down compared to the other potty training pants that we've tried! Plus, knowing that I'm supporting North American products because Bummis has the made here promise!
Is there anything I'd change?
No, we are 100% pleased with the functionality and performance!
I give Bummis Potty Pants a 10/10!

ReplyDeleteThis would be percect as we are startig potty training on our 3rd child. He is a bit tougher then the first 2 since I also have a 3 month old.
ReplyDeleteI love that it has a feel wet liner. My two year old isn't quite ready for potty training yet. I'm just starting to look into different options for when we do start.
ReplyDeleteMy little one just turned 3 in December and we are struggling with it. She has outgrown her cloth diapers and we are trying to train her with sposie training pants, but I don't think she realizes when she is wet. I love that these have the feel wet liner.. I think that would help so much!
