This week has been so cold here in Iowa!
We have had snow and temps have plummeted to single digits, I had to turn the heat up in the house and had to start warming up the car before we go anywhere.
I wanted something to keep my baby warm and make sure she is safe in the car seat, so I got her a fleece bunting! Fleece is great because it is thin yet holds body heat in, it's breathable and it actually is water repellent. I will put on a fleece sleeper and her fleece bunting and feel assured she's staying warm.
Fleece buntings are safer than other winter baby wear for car seat safety because there's no need to adjust the car seat straps. The fit more snugly to baby and will not create space between baby and straps. A thicker coat can decompress during an accident and is not safe. Here is a video that shows how this space from a puffy coat can affect a child during an accident.
There are many color and style options for fleece buntings on Amazon (affilitate link) for your little one. I just love the little bear ears on the hoods! Here are my favorite 5 fleece buntings!
Have you used a fleece bunting for your little one? Are any of my favorites yours too?
