I love cloth diapers! There are many benefits to using them, they're better for your baby's skin, better for the environment and definitely a great way to save money! It's a good idea to experiment with all the different types of cloth diapers because diaper materials range between manufacturers so trying out everything helps you determine what will work best for your family.
Today, I'll be letting you know all about Hip Huggers Cloth Diapers! Angela, the mastermind of Hip Huggers Cloth Diapers, is the designer and works directly with a China based manufacturer, which helps keep the prices of the diapers affordable.
I received a Supreme One Size Pocket diaper in the Carnivale print. This diaper is VERY affordable, it's under $15! The first thing I noticed about this diaper were the double gussets (an extra layer of pul and elastic along the legs). I love double gussets because they keep the mess in the diaper so much better!
The ultra soft grey inner fabric is called charcoal bamboo fleece. I've never used this before and was slightly intimidated, but I found a great blog post written by Stacey Irwin on Green Earth News HERE explaining all the benefits charcoal bamboo has. To sum up that post, charcoal bamboo is known to be super absorbent, antimicrobial and great for baby's skin. The insert that's included is 5 layers of absorbancy- 3 inner microfiber layers and covered in the charcoal bamboo fleece as well.
Look at this diaper print, isn't it awesome! Hip Huggers has TONS of knockout prints available. This is in the smallest rise setting, with overlapping wings. This setting would fit approximately 9 pounds.
Here is a pic showing a couple other settings, as you can see this diaper is very versatile, it can fit up to 34 pounds!
My little Karebear is almost 13 months old and about 22 pounds. She will be able to use this diaper until she is potty trained. It fits snugly around her waist, legs and back. The first time we used this diaper, she went 4 hours without needing to be changed! I was super excited, and decided to give this diaper a try for overnight. I added a hemp soaker, along with the charcoal bamboo/microfleece insert and in the morning, there were no leaks! It's so relieving when you finally find a diaper that can do this task! Washing it is the same as you would any other pocket diaper, just take out the insert and wash on your normal diaper washing cycle. I personally do a cold soak, warm wash and cold rinse and I line dry. But this diaper can happily take a tumble dry low setting, if you prefer not to hang to dry. I've washed this diaper about 5 times now and it looks just as good as it did the day we got it!
I have not had one single issue with this diaper, I absolutely love it! I give Hip Huggers a 10/10!
Hip Huggers also has All-In-Two cloth diapers, training underwear, wet bags, snack baggies, nursing pads, mama cloth, and other things available! Check out the Hip Huggers Cloth Diapers Facebook page!
