Using cloth diapers is something I didn't even think about until I saw a pic of a friend's baby in one and decided to research them. I found out that cloth diapers don't have chemicals in them like disposable diapers, so they're better for baby's skin. They can last through several children, putting less waste in our landfills and cloth diapers are MUCH cheaper when you do the math. Plus, there really is nothing cuter on the bum. I was super excited when I saw this vintage christmas print available at Lilybug Kids! I'm pleased to be able to help you get to know more about the pocket diapers Lilybug Kids offer and the WAHM behind it all!
Kristie Bloodworth is the owner of Lilybug Kids. She wanted her daughters to be able to have organic options due to a polyester allergy and felt limited in the variety of prints available for her to buy. So she started sewing cloth diapers for her girls, and enjoyed it so much fun that she decided to make it a business. She has been selling from her Etsy shop since July 2014.
Lilybug Kids sells pocket diapers, organic pocket diapers, diaper covers, AIO's, inserts, wet bags and cloth diaper pants.
I was sent this One Size pocket diaper for reviewing purposes. Isn't this diaper simply the cutest holiday print you've seen? I love how she personalized the package by adding a bow!
There are 4 rows of 3 rise snap adjustments, which make this diaper very customizable- from 8 pounds to 35 pounds! There are 2 rows with a total of 12 waist snaps which help the diaper grow to the largest possible setting. This is great because it should fit baby from birth to when they're potty trained.
With the waterproof PUL layer on the outside, you shouldn't see leaks. The inner is made of soft bamboo velour, which is hypoallergenic and great for baby's skin. There is a pocket with ample room to stuff in your choice of insert (inserts are not sold with the diaper, unfortunately). I personally prefer bamboo, hemp or flour sack towels as inserts. I feel that this diapers does offer a fitting unlike I have used, because the wings did not extend out as wide as the front. But after putting it on Karebear, I found this fitting to be great!
Karebear wore this diaper for 4 hours her first time. She did not have any leaks or wetness along the legs either. I feel that with the inserts I chose, it is a very durable diaper and could possibly last through the night with some kiddos.
It really really really looks cute on the bum. This print is so festive! I seriously found myself singing, "Jingle butt... Jingle butt..." Oh what fun! LOL
What is my favorite thing about this diaper? The print is fabulous, but I also really enjoy the bamboo velour liner. It seems like a much more natural choice!
Is there anything I'd change? I am used to having wings that extend further, and this diaper doesn't have that, I admit I think longer wings are more aesthetically pleasing. BUT this does not affect the way this diaper works or anything. It works splendidly just the way it is!
I give Lilybug Kids a 9/10!
