I love babywearing!  It's comfortable, baby is nestled against you which promotes baby's physical, emotional, social and neurological development. When babywearing, there's no need to struggle with getting a carseat in and out of the car, or hauling strollers around. It's easy, since you have less gear you have less work to do. It's safe, and it just makes sense.
I have a couple carriers and have my eye on a couple more. If you follow me on Instagram,  you've probably seen my DIY ice dyed Ring Sling. I'm lucky to have a local Babywearing group, Iowa City Babywearers is a great group of babywearing families where I have gotten great tips and it is nice to get to try all the different types of carriers there are available in their lending library!
I recently stumbled upon Bitybean Ultra Compact Baby Carriers and after one look at their site, I found their carrier design so fascinating!  This carrier wasn't like any other soft-structured carrier I'd ever seen!

I am pleased to help get you more acquainted with Bitybean today!
I received the Bitybean Baby Carrier in Carrot Orange. The other colors available are Lime Green, Sand Grey and Sky Blue. When stored in the travel bag, it seriously is the size of a television remote control. It is super lightweight, not even as heavy as a can of food. The travel bag could easily be stored in your glove box, purse or diaper bag. It is the perfect size for those who are on the go.
Here are a few important facts about Bitybean baby carriers.
  • all Bitybean carriers weigh 8 ounces
  • are capable of front (belly to belly) and rear carries for infants over 3 months and 8-40 pounds
  • are ultra compact
  • fully adjustable- from women's size zero the waist strap extends to 46 inches
  • are machine washable
  • can be used as a water carrier in non-chlorinated water
  • made of 60% nylon and 40% polyester
  • comes with a 12 month warranty
  • sleep hood, fleece liner and waist extenders are sold separately
  • meets consumer product safety regulations- "Bitybean's carrier has been independent laboratory certified to ASTM International F2236-12 Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Soft Infant Carriers, testing to the -13 version of the standard is underway.Bitybean uses buckles which are lead-free and the fabrics do not have any flame retardant coatings. Bitybean is proud to be a member of The Baby Carrier Industry Alliance, the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association, and ASTM International."
My daughter instantly fell in love with her new carrier.  She loves being worn! Wherever we go, I find it necessary to have a carrier. I personally prefer soft-structured carriers because they offer more padding which provides more support for both mom and babe.  It is crucial that baby is in correct position reducing pressure to their hips, groin and spine. This is easily attainable with soft-structured carriers because they have a seat for baby's bottom, distributing weight evenly. The Bitybean carrier has wide straps, they do not dig in at all. There is a seat for babe and when worn for short periods, the babe will remain in a good ergonomical position.

Our family went out this weekend, visiting the pumpkin patch and I wore Karebear in the Bitybean. You can tell she is supported well in both a back carry and front carry. Using the Bitybean is simple, take the waist strap and put it around your waist, buckle and tighten. Insert baby, buckle leg straps and tighten if under 15 pounds. Slide your arms through shoulder straps and buckle the chest clip, tighten. Takes maybe one minute from start to finish. While wearing Karebear, near the third hour, I noticed she settled more, and I felt the need to adjust the seat for her position to improve. I would not suggest using this carrier for an extended period of time. Bitybean is perfect for quick trips!
I am a 2X and it fits me very well, with at least 6 inches to spare without an extension. However, the front carry seems to be the most comfortable to me, when back carrying, the waist straps seem to dig in more. The straps are an inch wide and the clips are small. Here is a photo of the buckles/clips size compared to a quarter.

Wrapping it up and putting it back into the bag took a couple tries at first, but I found the best way to pack back up. If you fold it in half then tuck the straps in, it rolls up easily.
What is my favorite thing about the Bitybean? I can carry it with me wherever I go, it is super convenient and easy to pack up and store for the next use!
Is there anything I'd change? I think the clips are very small and am afraid that they will get stepped on or broken too easily. If the clips were a bit bigger, I wouldn't have this concern so because of that, I give the Bitybean a 9/10!
